Let’s get to know Echinacea a little better

Updated: Sep 1, 2021

We use Echinacea in our Pure Sole Hoof Cleanse for its antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, but this powerful little flower has a whole range of benefits for you and your four legged friends.

First of all it’s one of the world's best known herbs and has been used to aid the body’s natural defenses for centuries!

It can be used for chronic viral or bacterial infections and is an effective immuno-stimulant. Many herbalists recommend Echinacea to boost the immune system and help the body fight infection!

Echinacea can be used as a prophylactic to protect horses from infections, as a blood cleanser and as a glandular and lymphatic system cleanser.

It can also be used for urinary tract infections, skin complaints, and wound healing.

It has natural anti-inflammatory properties that make it a natural pain reliever. This makes it a great herb to use externally as a poultice/compress to help reduce swelling and pain.

Its anti-viral and antibacterial properties stimulate quick tissue repair, and when applied topically, it also acts as a strong preventative against these infections recurring. This is why it's such an important ingredient in our Pure Sole Hoof Cleanse. It works in combination with other ingredients to attack bacteria and fungus in the hoof, while aiding in healthy frog regrowth.

You can utilize Echinacea's benefits in the form of a tea, a supplement, or topically. This little flower definitely packs a punch!

*Always check with your veterinarian before introducing a new supplement or herb into your horse's diet or health care.
