When you pack up the feet and have a softer hoof, it's easier to put the mud in because it doesn't create pressure to the wall in areas that are already broken and chipped. I also use it under pads and like that it's antibacterial and antifungal. I've also found that it hardens soft soles.

I've been using Pure Sole Hoof Mud for months and am impressed. I use it in places where thrush may grow and where debris hides. I am especially impressed with how well it holds up under pads or glue on shoes where the sole is 'sealed up' for six weeks at a time. In these cases, when I remove the shoe, the hoof actually smells good!
THE PURE SOLE STORY
Pure Sole is a woman owned company dedicated to making all-natural horse care products with the highest quality ingredients available. Founded in 2017 by Georgette Topakas who previously owned and created another natural horse company called Zephyrs Garden. A need arose for a natural product to eliminate thrush and encourage healthy hoof growth in-between trims. Georgette worked to create our Pure Sole Hoof Mud and Pure Sole Hoof Wax! The company was taken over in 2019 by Erin and Miranda, two full time barefoot trimmers, who have continued to grow Pure Sole and expand the product line to address a variety of hoof, coat, and skin ailments.
